Journalist Arbindra Gautam honored on 13th National Dress and International Topi Day

Kathmandu.Rajan thapa Journalist Arbindra Gautam, who has been making continuous, responsible and factual contributions to the field of journalism, has been honored on the occasion of 13th National Dress Day and International Topi Day.

Minister of Information and Communications, Hon. Jagadish Kharel, presented the honor to journalist Gautam at a special program organized by the National Heritage Conservation Foundation Nepal. The organizer stated that he was given the honor in high appreciation for his contribution to truthful, impartial and responsible journalism focusing on issues of social concern.

Stating that journalist Gautam’s journalism has been strongly highlighting the voices of the common citizen, social justice, cultural preservation and contemporary issues, the organizing organization has described his contribution as exemplary.

Just a few days ago, Gautam was honored with cash and a certificate at the 28th annual general meeting of Kavrepalanchok District Savings and Credit Cooperative Association Ltd. Less than a week later, Gautam has been given another honor.

The National Costume Day and International Hat Day campaign, which was launched by the National Heritage Conservation Foundation Nepal in 2070 BS with the aim of identifying and promoting the national formal dress of Nepal, has completed 13 years this year.

On this occasion, on the evening of Poush 16, a lamp was lit in memory of those who were injured and martyred during the Genji Movement in Basantapur. Similarly, on the morning of Poush 17, a morning procession was held in the Basantapur Durbar area with the playing of Panchebaja.

On the afternoon of Poush 17, personalities who have made significant contributions from various fields were felicitated and honored in a program organized at the Nepal Tourism Board auditorium. The program was held under the chairmanship of Founder and Chairman Rajananda Mandavya.

Senior Engineer Shankarnath Rimal, the designer of the national flag, Nepal Jaycees 2026 President Jeevan Karki, Miss Nepal 2025 winner Luna Luintel, topi activist Shankar Banjade, lyricist Lokraj Adhikari, journalist Bhojraj Thapa, taekwondo referee Dipendra Dhakal, writer Archana Jha, spiritual preacher Sanjelji Maharaj, Deepkishore Bhattarai, Kabindra Neupane (Baman) and others were also honored in various categories at the program.

Banker Anil Keshari Shah, actor Pradeep Khadka, Dalit Commission Chairman Honorable Devraj Bishwakarma, Madhesi Commission Chairman Honorable Dr. Vijay Kumar Dutt, Dr. Bhawani Rana and other distinguished personalities were present at the program.

The organizers have concluded that this campaign, which is being conducted with the aim of uniting Nepalis around the world through dress, topi and cultural identity, has further strengthened Nepali originality and national identity.
